Evatt’s Barrow side were crowned champions of the National League earlier this week and will be playing in League Two next season for the first time in 48 years.

Bolton are on the search for a new manager after the club confirmed Keith Hill would leave his position when his contract expires at the end of June.

They finished bottom of League One on 14 points.

Just eight years ago they were playing in the Premier League.

Evatt, 38, is one of the names being linked with the Bolton job along with Plymouth boss Ryan Lowe.

When asked about the speculation, Evatt told the Barrow Mail: “At the end of the day, as it stands I’m Barrow’s manager and I’m just enjoying the time here now and what we’ve just achieved. I’m not really thinking about anything else at the moment.

“It’s the nature of the beast that when a club has success and when people are envious about what we’ve done and how we’ve done it then your best players and your manager are going to be linked elsewhere.”

Barrow’s promotion was finally confirmed after National League clubs voted in favour of deciding the final table standing on points per game.

The Cumbrians led the way from November and were four points clear of second-placed Harrogate Town when the season was halted.
