The experienced forward did not feature at all during pre-season due to a calf injury and although he is back in training, manager John Pemberton does not want to rush him back and risk him being out for longer.

On Tyson’s recovery, Pemberton said: “It is a little bit slower than we thought.

“He has done some training today and he looked okay so we will have to see how he is tomorrow.

“With this one we just have to see day-by-day.

“Last week he did not seem to be far off, and then when we stepped him up he was a little bit sore so we just have to be careful with the reaction that we get from him.

“I don’t want to rush him back and have him half fit, or 75 per cent fit, and the possibility of him breaking down again when we might have to wait a week or less to get him back and he is confident about the injury he has got.

“It is not a huge thing. With it being in the calf he just finds it a bit painful sometimes when he steps it up to just kick through it so we are monitoring him everyday.

But there is some positive news as Curtis Weston, who hobbled off after an hour in midweek, is training and should be available at the weekend.

“He is okay, he has trained today,” Pemberton told the DT.

“He came off on Tuesday, I think it was just the amount of work he got through, obviously he has been injured.

“With the amount of work he got through he just tightened up.

“I thought we missed him when he came off to be fair but he has trained today so he should be fine.”

Meanwhile, Haydn Hollis is another option after missing out on a place in the squad against Hartlepool.

“He has trained today,” Pemberton added.

“Haydn is fine.

“He wanted to be involved on Tuesday but the right thing to do was to make sure he is right.

“He is ready.”
