The Spireites were left gutted on Tuesday night following an injury-time 4-3 defeat to high-flying Harrogate Town at the Proact.

The Blues remain one point from safety and travel to rock-bottom Chorley on Saturday.

Caretaker boss Pemberton said: “We will get out of it, I have no doubt we will get out of it. I am confident.

“It is going to be hard because we have got some tough games coming up but if we show what we did against Harrogate for the rest of the season I think we will be alright.

“I enjoyed a lot of what we did (against Harrogate) and I know deep down the feeling that they have got in the dressing room, it is hurting them and we will get a reaction.

“We had a reaction after the Notts County game and I want the same reaction because a lot of it was good.”

Pemberton said there was a lot of positives to take into the Saturday’s match and that they are improving.

“We are getting better,” he added.

“This team eight weeks ago was on its back.

“You can see a massive difference in them. In the spirit, in the fight, they are fitter and they are more organised.

“I am disappointed because a point would have got us out (of the relegation zone). It was in our grasp so I am frustrated with that.”
