Both sides were relegated together last season and have been finding life a little challenging in B Division.

It was the visitors who led 2-0 at half-time thanks to their danger man Lee Bowden after 14 minutes and captain Ryan Parsley with a sweet edge of the box finish ten minutes before the break.

However, Pilsley were not without chances with Bradley Saint firing just wide, and Rhys Wallhead having an effort cleared off the line.

The second half in the sense of goals started no better for the home side when Scott Parker further extended The Lions lead, slotting home a far post cross with 57 minutes on the watch.

Pilsley built up a head of steam finally and, after Saint had gone on a weaving run that needed the keeper and post to save his strike, they did pull a goal back.

Pilsley’s man-of-the-match Shane Marriott showed good patience to retain possession on the edge of the box, before finding the right time to fire home an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.

A comeback was feeling likely and Wallhead and Blake Aldgate had shots turned away and with seven minutes remaining the deficit was reduced to one goal when Steven Rogers lifted the ball over the visiting keeper.

With three minutes remaining though the three points were confirmed as being on their way back to the Dales when Parker got his second after a mix up in the home defence allowed him to slot home.
