'The sky is the limit' - James Rowe confirmed as new Chesterfield manager

The 37-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season after leaving Gloucester City.
He will be joined by experienced coach and scout George Foster, 64, who assisted him at the Tigers.

Hide Ad“I’m delighted to have got it over the line and I’m really looking forward to getting out on the grass tomorrow with the players,” Rowe said.
“The heritage of the club is outstanding and the challenge is to get the club back to where it should be.
“With the facilities, the fanbase and the squad, the club should be a lot higher in the table and the first challenge is to get some consistency going and then the sky is the limit.
“I’m excited after listening to Mike Goodwin and John Croot and the board and now we need to move forward together and I am sure we will.”

Hide AdChief executive Croot added: “We are delighted to have been able to appoint James. It is a real coup to have recruited an exciting young manager, demonstrating great vision from the board.”
The appointment comes eight days after John Pemberton left the club by mutual consent.
Rowe has this season led Gloucester to the top of the National League North with seven wins and two draws, scoring 26 goals along the way.
The former Aldershot Town assistant manager, who has also been a youth coach at Birmingham City and West Ham United, was interviewed for the job on Monday.
The Tigers confirmed his departure from the club on Tuesday after a year in charge.
